For Kitty Doe, it seems like an easy choice. She can either spend her life as a III in misery, looked down upon by the higher ranks and forced to leave the people she loves, or she can become a VII and join the most powerful family in the country.

If she says yes, Kitty will be Masked—surgically transformed into Lila Hart, the Prime Minister’s niece, who died under mysterious circumstances. As a member of the Hart family, she will be famous. She will be adored. And for the first time, she will matter.

There’s only one catch. She must also stop the rebellion that Lila secretly fostered, the same one that got her killed …and one Kitty believes in. Faced with threats, conspiracies and a life that’s not her own, she must decide which path to choose—and learn how to become more than a pawn in a twisted game she’s only beginning to understand.

my thoughts 2

I had no idea I would enjoy this book as much as I did! This reminded me a lot of Alice in Wonderland in how the Royal family was named Hart. The queen reminded me a lot of the one in Alice so very much. Every time the queen appeared I pictured the big headed cartoon queen.

Kitty has been placed in a III. This isn’t a great class to be apart of. A VI is at least a better life. Obviously not like a VII which is royal family only. Kitty is very smart and could very easily be placed higher but it’s because she can’t read that she’s placed as a III.  Both her and her boyfriend, Benji know he will be placed as a XI. When given the chance to live a better life and save the ones she loves the most, she takes it no questions. But once 2 of her loved ones are gone, is it worth living this life as the princess who is supposed to be dead?

I can’t get over how much fun this book was! I was constantly wanting to know what was going to happen next. I flew through this book! It was completely packed with loads of suspense action. You never knew who to trust. You thought you knew you trusted one character then something happens and maybe they aren’t so trustworthy.

I need to know what happens next! That cliffhanger is driving me crazy.
