Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.
She can’t believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.
Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.
They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.
War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.
BEST ENDING EVER! It’s been a couple days now, but I’m still not over this series. I will probably never get over this series, I’m not ready to let go. I didn’t read Shadows yet, so that’s why the pages are shorter than the actual book. Hopefully I’ll get to Shadows soon! I’m eager to see Dawson’s point of view.
But this was amazing ending. It ended perfectly! Unfortunately I’m one of those that always wants more to the ending. I want to see their lives after what has all happened. But that’s also because I’m not ready to let the series go! I love that JLA includes pop culture references! It’s what makes me love her books that much more. It’s so incredibly easy to connect with these characters and the story! I love it EVEN MORE because Katy is a book blogger!! She’s incredibly easy to relate to and I definitely look up to her.
What’s also exciting is the potential in a continuation! There are soo many different clues or hints that could mean another series! I really hope she decides to add more to this series! The epilogue was fantastic. Couldn’t have asked for a better ending. It was absolutely adorable! As well as the special thank you chapter on her blog which really put the cherry on top!
“It’s not like I’m going to run up and hug him.”
His expression turned bland. “I’d sure hope not. I might get jealous.”
“You’d get jealous if she hugged a tree,” Archer tossed out.
“Maybe.” Daemon coasted to a stop in a parking space behind the car. “I’m needy like that.”– page 208
“You just don’t want to admit that you’re in the beginning stages of a bromance to end all bromances.”
I snorted. “Whatever.”– page 269
“Kat.” He uttered my name like it was some kind of prayer, and then he pressed a kiss against the skin behind my ear. “I broke every rule of my kind to heal you and keep you with me. I … burned down an entire city to keep you safe. I’ve killed for you. Did you think I’d forget what you mean to me? That anything in this world— in any world— would be stronger than my love for you?” ― Jennifer L. Armentrout, Opposition
