Music Monday is a weekly meme started by Athena @Total Book Geek. For the meme, you find a book/scene in a book and match it with a song; and trying to avoid spoilers.
Hey guys! So I’m here with my second post! The instructions are very simple in how you do this meme.. Just choose a book or a scene from a book and match it with a song and explain why you chose the 2!
This week I’m featuring:
So wrong for each other …and yet so right.
No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with “freaky” scars on her arms. Even Echo can’t remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal.
But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo’s world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.
Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she’ll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.
The song I’m matching this to is Lullaby by Nickelback:
I ABSOLUTELY, ABSOLUTELY, AB-SO-LUTE-LY ADORE Nickelback! Especially this song! I literally get goosebumps and sometimes teary eyed. I adore this song to pieces and it fits really well with this book! Echo and Noah both have really messed up situations, that much is obvious. They don’t have it easy and they both want something and can use each other to get there.. But then they start to develop feelings for each other. Why did I pick the song? Here’s a piece of the lyrics:
Please let me take you
Out of the darkness and into the light
‘Cause I have faith in you
That you’re gonna make it through another night
Stop thinking about the easy way out
There’s no need to go and blow the candle out
Because you’re not done
You’re far too young
And the best is yet to come
Do you guys agree? What do you guys think? Tell me in the comments! Ugh, I adore this song and this book as well! I just think it’s a great match!
See you guys next week!
