Release Blitz: The Player by K. Bromberg

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00074]Baseball has never been sexier in an all-new novel by New York Times Bestselling Author, K. Bromberg.

Easton Wylder is baseball royalty. The game is his life. His passion. His everything.

So, when an injury threatens to end Easton’s season early, the team calls in renowned physical therapist, Doc Dalton, to oversee his recovery. Except it’s not Doc who greets Easton for his first session, but rather, his daughter, Scout. She may be feisty, athletic, defiant, and gorgeous, but Easton is left questioning whether she has what it takes to help him.

Scout Dalton’s out to prove a female can handle the pressure of running the physical therapy regimen of an MLB club. And that proof comes in the form of getting phenom Easton Wylder back on the field. But getting him healthy means being hands-on.

And with a man as irresistible as Easton, being hands-on can only lead to one thing, trouble. Because the more she touches him, the more she wants him, and she can’t want him. Not when it’s her job to maintain the club’s best interest, in regards to whether he’s ready to play.

But when sparks fly and fine lines are crossed, can they withstand the heat, or is one of them bound to get burned?

Review Release Blitz: Sweet Cheeks by K. Bromberg

sweetcheeks_frontcoverAn all new second chance love story by the New York Times Bestselling author of the beloved Driven series.

It all started with the invitation. To my ex-fiance’s new wedding.

I should have ignored it. Thrown it away. Set it afire. But I didn’t. I replied.

With a plus one.

And then my assistant accidentally mailed it.

Enter Hayes Whitley. Mega-movie star. The man who has captured the hearts of millions. But I gave him mine years ago. He was my first love. He was my everything. Right until he up and left to chase his dreams without so much as a simple goodbye.

When he showed up out of the blue ten years later, I should have known to steer clear of him. I should have rejected his offer to take me to my ex’s wedding. I should have never let him kiss me.

But I didn’t.

And now we’re left wondering if the pieces of the life we once shared still fit together somehow. First loves are hard to forget. The question is, do we want to forget? Or do we risk the chance and see what happens next?

what i thought

I really enjoyed this book. Second chance romances are some of my favorite reads and this wasn’t an exception. I have been so excited to dive into more of K. Bromberg’s books after devouring the first 3 Driven books plus the novella companion to those 3 books.

I think fans of J. Daniel’s Sweet Addiction will enjoy this. It’s similar in that both of our female leads own a bakery and love to bake. I like trying to draw similarities so hopefully that convinces at least one person; worth a try right? :)

You can’t help but love Hayes; I adored the flashback and the last 15% of the book. It’s what completely won me over for him. Once you finish the book, hopefully you’ll understand why I loved him so much by the end of the book.

I’ve always been intrigued by actress/actor books; Hayes being the actor in the book. I always like to see how someone from Hollywood falls in love (or back in love) with someone who has absolutely no connection to that world. Leads me to believe that one day Nick Jonas or Channing Tatum or Liam Hemsworth will come find me one day. ;) — A girl can dream right? :)

I’m trying to stay away from my giddy and gushing in my reviews and hopefully I’ve done just that. I loved this book – that’s all I can say without just gushing. :)

On a whim, K. Bromberg decided to try her hand at this writing thing. Since then she has written The Driven Series (Driven, Fueled, Crashed, Raced, Aced), the standalone Driven Novels (Slow Burn, Sweet Ache, Hard Beat, and Down Shift), and a novella (UnRaveled). My Reading Stack (#28)

reading stackGuys, I fail at posting on my blog. I’ve gotten so busy this semester with my classes. It’s not that my classes are hard this semester, it’s that they are extremely time-consuming! So I’m going to play catch up from my last reading stack. :)

driven in flight

  • Driven by K. Bromberg: I THINK I caught on to what happened to Colton when he was younger. But knowing me, I’m probably wrong. I really liked this story, but I felt a little was missing. I didn’t feel as connected with the characters and I love that I have the e-book boxset which has Raced, the novella for Colton’s POV throughout the trilogy so it’s woven into the 3 books, so it’s nice having his perspective instead of waiting until the series is completely over. I felt we didn’t see much of any of his racing career, just him in the spotlight. Hopefully we see more in the sequel. I really like both characters and I’m curious to see how they develop and get past what has happened to both.
    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆☆
  • In Flight by R.K. Lilley: Absolutely loved this book! James Cavendish has landed a spot on my top book boyfriends list. Now, I havent read many erotic books similar to this and Fifty Shades, but choosing between Christian Grey and James Cavendish is almost difficult. I loved Bianca and James’ relationship so far and they clearly have alot to work on so I’m curious and excited to see how they end up and how much obstacles they need to go through to get to that last spot. Loved this book, great narration as an audiobook. I started flipping between audio and ebook to finish in time for ABF this weekend around 33%, but loved this book to pieces. I wouldn’t be surprised if this series makes it on my top reads of 2016… Loved it! Can’t wait to get my hands on the sequel and conclusion, just hope it’s sooner than later. :)

forgiving lies cherished

  • Forgiving Lies by Molly McAdams: Okay, first off. Molly McAdams…. We start to get a happy epilogue then THAT gets thrown. Why. Just. Why?! But loved this book despite that cliffhanger ending. I’m very happy I have the sequel on my shelf and will definitely be starting that very soon. I now understand the green Sour Patch Kids reference. :) Loved Kash, but then again, who wouldn’t love him?! I’m nervous yet excited to see what happens in the sequel. This book wasn’t at all what I expected it to be. I got teary eyed and almost lost it a couple times. Candice unfortunately even after being redeemed, I still don’t like her character. Regardless if Rachel forgave her, I don’t. Friends don’t act like Candice did and honestly I don’t think she will continue to redeem herself in the sequel. I will be beyond shocked if Molly is able to redeem her for me.
    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆☆☆
  • Cherished by Kelly Elliott: Absolutely freaking loved this book. This whole series. Every character. Every. Freaking. Drama. Filled. Moment!!!! I still have a Forever Love to read, but it follows Gunner’s grandparents. I’m beyond excited to start the spin off series. I have become so attached to these characters and after the spin off series is finished, I really don’t know what I’m going to do! I tried to fight off my tears soo much while reading the epilogue. So bittersweet!

my soul to keep2 down to my soul

  • My Soul to Keep by Kennedy Ryan: I LOVED this book! Words cannot describe how much I LOVED Rhyson!!! I seriously wish emojis worked on Goodreads because it can do a better job at explaining my feelings and showing you exactly how I felt about this book. Ugh, this book. Tears never stopped. A lot were happy tears (in a way). Kennedy has such a gorgeous writing style and the background Kai comes from just brought tears to my eyes multiple times. Just the way it was told and what certain characters would do, it was just a constant flow of tears! I don’t want to give too much away from the plot and spoil anything which is why that sounds extremely vague, but once they start occuring, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Seriously. Kennedy’s writing is gorgeous and I’m beyond excited to read more from her. She’s definitely working in to one of my favorite authors because of her writing. I loved the characters she created, especially our 2 main characters. Now, the ending, that could go another way… I still don’t like what happened in the end. Just to be warned for those that haven’t read this, it does have a pretty big cliffhanger, but know that the sequel releases at the end of the month so not much waiting time. It’s one of those that you just have to know IMMEDIATELY what happened and figure out how they will get through it because obviously they will right? If not, that’s cool. I’ll take Rhys. ;)
I’m going to gush again- I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK. EVERY. DANG. MINUTE. WAS. BEAUTIFUL!
I will be posting a full length review in the weeks that follow so be on the lookout for that!

    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆☆☆
  • Down to My Soul by Kennedy Ryan: I need more!!!!! I loved this sequel. You get so attached to these characters and what is going on that you just want to reach through your Kindle and scream and tell them they are making the wrong decision! Rhys has definitely made it into my list of top book boyfriends – his character and his personality was to die for and you can’t help but fall in love with him. What I really like most I guess about Kai and Rhys’ relationship, despite all the drama and secrets that came along with the two (let’s just ignore that for the sake of this comment) how well they communicate with each other. I know you’re probably wondering why I would say that after saying the drama and secrets that come between the couple, but despite all that, their interactions is what really drew me. Yes, they had secrets and weren’t always honest. But the way they communicated with each other is different from alot of books I read (maybe I just didn’t pay much attention as I did in this one). But I truly felt they communicate fairly well. I’m praying there’s a 3rd book- that just being me. It does wrap up nicely, but being the absolute hardcore romance addict I am, I always want more to a couples’ story. Maybe even like a novella or something…. ;)
Overall, I loved these 2 books and I will have full length reviews of both books very soon on my blog if your curious to see more thoughts as well as teasers I make. :)

deceiving lies hidden bodies fueled

  • Deceiving Lies by Molly McAdams: Wow, just wow. This book took me by surprise in every aspect. I knew with the ending of the first, it was going to be a crazy book. But dang, was I wrong! So much drama and craziness! I absolutely love Molly’s writing and cannot wait to dive into more of her books. I’m seriously kicking myself, as I always do for having waited so long to start her books. I am finally starting to understand the love for her books! Kash has completely stolen a chunk of my heart, especially towards the end. I was worried with the course it was going that I wouldn’t like the last half. But, I ended up loving every minute of this duet. I do hope and pray we get something on Trent. I am curious to see more of his character (I’m not even sure if he has a book out yet or not??) Molly, if not can I put in a personal request? ;)
Loved this book. Got teary eyed quite a bit. I’m very excited to read her other books- I know some are tear jerkers and not like this book at all.

    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆☆☆
  • Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes: I don’t know what happened in the sequel. Maybe a factor into why is because how long it took me to read. Then again, more than half the book, I honestly felt bored. I hate to say that because I absolutely loved the first. Joe is such a creepy, scary, intimidating, psychotic, yet very interesting character and I was SOO excited for the sequel. Especially after hearing Hans from Frozen did the voice for both books! I was so beyond excited! Santino did a FANTASTIC job with Joe’s character and portraying his personality. SPOT ON. However, there were MANY characters in this book that drove me NUTS. I’m sure it was made to be that way with Joe’s POV especially since we are seeing everything through his crazy eyes. Maybe that’s the reason. But for some reason, this just didn’t live up to the greatness I guess of the first book. That’s not to say this was amazing! I did enjoy it. But, I feel Joe kind of lost his “spunk” and personality that we really got to see in the first. He was a different guy in this book. I don’t know how to feel with the ending- it is definitely open to a 3rd and I hope because honesty I’m not satisfied if that was the end. I am still curious to see what happens to him. There’s still so much I want to know about his character and I don’t want to spoil anything from the book but there’s soo much that happens in this book that doesn’t get all cleared up in the end. Which is why I think there might be a 3rd. Caroline Kepnes is definitely a very talented writer for sure. But I think I lost my touch with Joe in this one. I think I had such HIGH expectations, that it just didn’t live up to it unfortunately for me. But again, I loved how it started picking back up. There was one part towards the end I picked up on and knew what was going to come. Won’t spoil anything. ;)
I love Joe’s character despite how TWISTED and psychotic he is. It is scary to think that people like Joe are out there… Great sequel, overall enjoyed, but I think my expectations were just too high for the most part. I would definitely still recommend this book- especially in audio! Seriously, Santino does a FANTASTIC job at portraying Joe’s character!!!! Wish I would have done You in audio as well!

    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆½
  • Fueled by K. Bromberg: Why. Why. Why that ending?! Why a HUGE cliffhanger?! I’m so beyond glad I have the boxset and can start the 3rd book. I can probably bet I will start it tomorrow. I’m literally fighting off sleep at the moment- have been for over an hour trying to finish this book. I definitely loved this more than the sequel and I have fallen for Colton. There’s still more I’m curious to know about his character and hoping we get to see it all come together in the 3rd. I’m dying to know what happened even though I obviously know what happened but it can go many ways with that cliffhanger. This book was just frustrating I guess is the best way. Rylee and Colton clearly both have alot of baggage they carry and neither have really come to terms with what has happened to them in the past causing their relationship to strain because of it. I hope Colton comes to his senses and we finally learn what happened even though I have a pretty good idea of what happened to him growing up.
I can’t wait to start the 3rd, pretty sure I’ll be starting it tomorrow because that ending is killing me but I can’t fight off sleep anymore or I would be starting the 3rd right now!

My Reading Stack (#27)

reading stackI have slacked again badly… Sorry guys, it’s sometimes hard for me to manage my blog on top of work and school. I’m going to play catch up and discuss all the books I’ve finished since my last post which was January 31st! Whoops…

Week of January 31st-February 6th:

he will be my ruin making faces faithful

  • He Will Be My Ruin by K.A. Tucker: If I did quarter stars this might be a 4.75, but I need time to soak this book in. For now I’ll keep it at 5 stars, but I might do a 4.5, we will see. But wow. This was my first K.A. book, I have heard nothing but praise about her books and have been dying to read hers for over 2 years now. How I’ve yet to start until now is beyond me… I did expect this to be a mystery along with more romance. This doesn’t have much of any romance which honestly was nice. All I read for the most part now-a-days is romance! Because this is a mystery, I don’t want to start rambling about my feelings too much for fear of spoiling something. I’ll have more concrete thoughts in a final review, but know if your a fan of hers or even a fan of mystery, this is the book for you! It had me on my toes blaming almost every character that came into contact with our main character, Maggie. I do like that we get chapters in Celine’s POV. I read this along with a friend and we kept sending texts about what we thought was going to happen. Loved this book, full review to come soon!
    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆☆½
  • Making Faces by Amy Harmon: Wow, it took me this long to get to this one. I can’t believe I waited so long to read this book! Well technically I listened as an audio– which was FANTASTIC BTW. The narrator was PERFECT! It did take some time for the book to completely make it for me, but once it did, it became an all time favorite for me. I loved this book, it broke my heart, I tried SOOO hard not to cry at the end. I didn’t expect it to happen, my heart was racing and hoping and praying it wasn’t going to end like that. Amy Harmon is such an incredibly talented writer! WOW! I can’t wait to start her others now that I have a feel for how she writes! Just, wow. Beautifully written is all I can say… I did at times lose track of what point in time the book went to because I listened to it on audio. Sometimes it’s hard to concentrate when the book isn’t in front of you stealing your focus. But especially the last few hours of the book, I tried to work on other stuff and multi task, but I caught myself just staring at nothing just soaking in the book and seeing it happen through my eyes. Seriously, this book… If you haven’t read it yet, please do so ASAP.
    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆☆☆
  • Faithful by Kelly Elliott: Ugh, it’s impossible not to love these books! I have fallen for every character and that ending is seriously killing me. I don’t like it. it’s hurting my heart big time. I think Faithful is my favorite story, but Gunner is still my favorite male. :) Very excited for Amanda and Brad’s story then Jessie and Scott’s! :)
    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆☆☆

WEEK OF February 7th-13th:

twisted bond believe a wanted christmas seduction and snacks

  • Twisted Bond by Emma Hart: I loved this book. Holy cow, Noelle was freaking hilarious. The conversations between all the characters cracked me up the entire time. The tension between Drake and Noelle was unreal. I can’t wait to start book 2, don’t know when I am, but I’m excited regardless!
    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆☆☆
  • Believe by Kelly Elliott: Loved this of course! Very glad it was all Amanda and Brad’s POV. I was worried it would alternate like the other 3. So I’m glad it was only their POV. I’m so addicted to this series and I’ve become soo attached to all the characters! can’t wait to see Scott and Jessie’s story next!
    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆☆☆
  • Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec: This book was hilarious! I haven’t read many romcom books pretty much other than Pucked by Helena Hunting, but oh my god this was hilarious! I couldn’t stop smiling and laughing while reading! Loved this book, no bad things to say. I need more Tara Sivec!
    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆☆☆

WEEK OF February 14th-20th:

you the resistance archers voice after the rain

  • You by Caroline Kepnes: This is so different from what I normally read that I had to let it sit for a few hours to think about my rating. This book was just creepy, yet a good book. As I’ve said on Instagram, it’s definitely interesting. Wouldn’t say Joe is book boyfriend material lol but he’s definitely… interesting. Can’t wait to read book 2! Might do the audiobook!
    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆☆☆
  • The Resistance by S.L. Scott: I listened as an audiobook, narration wasn’t too crazy about. I couldn’t feel the connection between Dalton and Holiday – Dalton unfortunately just didn’t do it for me and I really tried to love his character. I felt like I missed alot about his character and couldn’t fully connect with him. I actually liked Holly’s neighbor, Danny better. We don’t get a whole lot of his character, but what I got, I liked his character. But for all we know, he could be terrible. :P For now, I still like him. I didn’t expect the plot twist at all. I could literally feel my heart just drop and stop literally. I was driving to class and I tried so hard to contain my emotions. Showing up bawling my eyes out and trying to explain, “ohh, I’m just crying because of a book”. I liked the general idea of the book, but just couldn’t get the connection which stinks because I liked the idea of these 2 and who they are. The ending brought a smile to my face that’s for sure.
    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆½
  • Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan: I think it goes without saying that this is one of my all time favorite books. As I always say, I’m kicking myself for just now having read it. I haven’t come across a single person that has said they didn’t like this book. This book was so beautifully written you can’t help but fall in love with it. Bree and Archer have claimed a piece of my heart- their story brought tears to my eyes to many times to count. I couldn’t put the book down for the life of me, even when I probably should have been working on homework for my classes. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that the next book I decide to pick up by her, that, and all of them will be amazing. Mia Sheridan is an incredibly talented author; can’t stress my love for this book enough!
    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆☆☆
  • After the Rain by Renee Carlino: This was my first Renee Carlino book and I loved it. I thought this was about a cowboy honestly, not a cowgirl. But ohh man did I love this book! I wanted to chunk the book and shake the 2 characters the last 30 pages. I just wanted to slam my head against something but I guess it had to happen. I related to Ava/Lena/Avelina’s character so much in the beginning.
    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆☆½

WEEK OF February 21st-27th:

the bet

  • The Bet by Rachel Van Dyken: Such a cute and funny book. Definitely exceeded my expectations. I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did. It was a quick read and the story is fast-paced. Grandma Nadine will become a favorite character, loved her to pieces. Travis is definitely on my list of book boyfriends (which is forever long). Maybe I missed the explanation (honestly I probably did) but I’m curious to know what happened to her parents… Again, probably missed it. Whoops! But can’t wait to read more of Rachel’s books!
    • FINAL RATING: ☆☆☆☆½

driven in flight

I’ll be finishing Driven today; only have about 50 pages left! I’m really enjoying it and I’m glad I own the whole e-book boxset. I’m also reading Raced, which is the novella that is comprised of Colton’s thoughts throughout the whole trilogy, so those chapters are woven into the trilogy. I’m listening to In Flight and will have it finished before Saturday. Since I still have a big chunk left of the book, I’ll be alternating listening and reading the paperback so I finish in time for ABF! (Separate post about my experience will come soon after next Saturday!)
