top ten tuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Ugh, this topic is me right now. I’m the WORST at finishing series… Let’s get this over with..

Infernal_Devices_Book_1_Clockwork_Angel_9781406321326_CVR clockwork prince clockwork princess

  • The Infernal Devices Trilogy by Cassandra Clare: I’ve only read the first and soon after finishing I was spoiled on the epilogue for Clockwork Princess. This was about a year ago. I’m not sure if being spoiled on the ending is what is keeping me from continuing, no idea.

half blood deity sentinel

  • Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout: I know, your shocked right?? Coming from someone who is OBSESSED with this lady, you’d think I would be done with this series by now. Nope.. Still have only read the 1st one… I’m terrible…

image image image

  • Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling: Okay, cut me some slack. I just started this summer and I’m going to start book 5 at some point. I WILL have this series finished by the end of the year. :)

the darkest minds never fade in the afterlight

  • The Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken: I literally only need to read the last book in this series. I still have yet to do so and I pre-ordered it. I’m bad…

bloodlines the indigo spell the ruby circle

  • Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead: Someone’s favorite series of all time (well at least 1 of them anyway), Vampire Academy you’d think I’d be done with this series. Nope… Still have only read the first. Have I told you guys how bad I am with keeping up with series!? It’s not that I don’t want to read the series, I do.

the lightning thief the titans curse the last olympian

  • Percy Jackson & the Olympians series by Rick Riordan: Read the first book so far. Again, not that I don’t want to read the series, I do. Just other books call to me..

daughter of smoke and bone days of blood and starlight dreams of gods and monsters

  • Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor: Okay, thankfully I only need to read the last one. But oh my gosh, my whole reason why I haven’t read it is the SIZE OF THE DANG BOOK! It’s massive!!! Plus, I’m not much of a fantasy person as you can tell. Not that I don’t like the series, I’m actually in love with it.

uglies pretties specials

  • The Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld: I’ve only read the first. This is a dystopian series that I read like. I like the idea of this world and I have been DYING to continue since I read the first book… Just haven’t done so yet.

marked burned redeemed

  • House of Night series by P.C. and Kristin Cast: I started this series a long time ago. Maybe like 4 or 5 years ago. I’m almost finished with the series, I have the final 2 books left. I’m at this point, that I’m curious to see how it all ends but I’m just like, okay 12 books… Really not necessary.

blue bloods misguided angel gates of paradise

  • Blue Bloods series by Melissa De La Cruz: This is another series I read a while back. Honestly I don’t remember anything from this series. So if I ever do finish it, I will have to start over. I do though remember really liking it. I mean, comeon it’s vampires. Vampires are the reason I love reading. Thank you Twilight. ;)

1. The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer: Honestly the only reason I have this on the list is because of the vampires. Pretty much anyone that has been interested in this series has probably already read it. But, definitely worth the read for vampire lovers like myself. :)

2. The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith: Well, if you love the show you should definitely give the series a shot! Granted, the show is COMPLETELY different from the books and the books have mixed reviews.

3. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead: Ignore the title… If you have yet to read this series, definitely read if you love vampires! I promise you’ll love it!

4. Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz: It’s been years since I’ve read this series so any details are extremely fuzzy, but I do remember really enjoying the series!

5. House of Night series by P.C. & Kristin Cast: Not my favorite series, but definitely enjoyable. It does drag on, but don’t let that get to you. Definitely do not try and marathon this series for all 12-13 books. I promise you will most likely either get A) Super bored after a while or B) Just want to put the series down forever.

city of bones the unbecoming of mara dyer white hot kiss obsidian the summoning

6. Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare: If your a fan of TVD, your a fangirl. Fangirls like fandoms. Definitely an amazing fandom to be apart of! Every supernatural creature you can think of, is part of this series!

7. The Mara Dyer trilogy by Michelle Hodkin: Okay, creepy factor + extremely hot boyfriend = fantastic trilogy. Definitely a favorite and definitely recommended for fans of TVD!

8. The Dark Elements series by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Okay, hot guys. Paranormal… Paranormal = vampires and other supernatural beings. Well, demons and gargoyles are in that category! Ohh, did I mention hot guys??? Well, this definitely has it!!!

9. The Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Hot guys= CHECK!!! Hot Aliens= CHECKKKKK!!!

10. Darkest Powers trilogy by Kelley Armstrong: I don’t know, it just seemed like something TVD fans would be interested in. TVD definitely has its creepy moments and this trilogy definitely doesn’t disappoint!

1. Mara Dyer from the Mara Dyer trilogy by Michelle Hodkin- Do I need to explain? Her best friend, boyfriend, and friend are dead and she can’t remember why. She thinks she’s involved.. Do I need any further explanation!?

2. Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins- Seriously… I don’t need to explain this one. Everyone and their family has read this trilogy and knows why I’m choosing Katniss.

3. Juliette from the Shatter Me trilogy by Tahereh Mafi- Once your touched by Juliette, your dead. No questions asked, your dead. So no, I don’t want to trade places. I’m sorry Juliette, I love your character, but your life kind of stinks.

4. Ruby from The Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken- I wouldn’t actually mind trading places because *cough* Liam *cough. But whereas the world, HECK NO. I’m sorry, but to live in that world, nope.

5. Zoey Redbird from the House of Night series by P.C. and Kristin Cast- Okay, it’s been 11 books and I feel sorry for the girl… Everything that could go wrong, goes wrong.

divergent angelfall the vampire diaries obsidian pretty little liars

6. Tris from the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth- Okay, I’ve only read Divergent so I can’t really say anything. But, I have a very short list of books I can choose from. Tris doesn’t have the world’s best life that’s for sure. I definitely WOULD NOT want to trade places with her!

7. Penryn from Penryn and the End of Days series by Susan Ee- Okay, a world that has been taken over by angels and is completely gory?! COUNT ME OUT!!

8. Elena Gilbert from The Vampire Diaries series (and show) by L.J. Smith- Okay, I’ve read at least the first 4 books in this series and literally anything that could go wrong, goes wrong. The ONLY reason I’d want to live Elena’s life is for Mr. Stefan Salvatore. Only reason.

9. Dee Black from the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout- I feel so bad for Dee especially after what happens in Onyx. I just want to crawl into a corner and cry with her. I’d definitely not want to be in her place.

10. Alison Dilaurentis from the Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard- Okay, anyone that has ever heard of this series knows what I’m talking about. Alison is dead. –not a spoiler– This is probably not the best choice, but as I’ve said previously, I have a very short list of books I can choose from.

3. Delirium trilogy by Lauren Oliver– Just don’t like these covers…

4. Bloodlines and Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead– Typical YA covers, but AMAZING series! Haven’t read Bloodlines yet, but Vampire Academy is amazing!

Top Ten Tuesday: Unusual Character Names I’ve Encountered In Books

This week’s theme is ‘Top Ten Unusual Character Names We’ve Encountered In Books’.

.

I DO NOT hate any of these fandoms! I love every single one of these series listed below!

Unusual Names:

the hunger games breaking dawn matched the selection blue bloods

1. Katniss and Peeta from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins– Okay, I don’t hate them. This is one of my favorite series. They are just such unusual names! Besides THG, I’ve never heard these names before.

2. Renesmee from Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer– Another one of my favorite series, okay, basically all time favorite. But, Renesmee is such a “random” name. Yes, I do know it’s both Edward’s and Bella’s mothers’ names. It’s just… unusual!

3. Cassia from Matched by Ally Condie– Cassie is one thing, but Cassia??

4. America from The Selection by Kiera Cass– I LOVE this name! It’s unusual because I don’t know anyone that has this name. The fact that this is dystopian and it (I’m assuming) takes place in the United States.

5. Schuyler from Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz– Completely random name. I don’t hate it, it’s just unusual!

Names I Love:

marked vampire academy city of bones Shatter me new eye co#1A459 the vampire diaries

1. Zoey from Marked by P.C. and Kristin Cast– I just LOVE this name! I’m not sure why I love it so much, but I do!

2. Rose and Lissa from Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead– These names, especially Rose are really pretty! Lissa is a very common name though..

3. Clary, Isabelle, and Jace from City of Bones by Cassandra Clare– Okay, I could basically say every character in this series is just awesome honestly! I especially love the name Clary. It just sounds pretty… Am I the only one?

4. Juliette from Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi– Romeo and Juliet? Really!? I don’t need an explanation. :)

5. Elena, Stefan, Damon, and Caroline from The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith– Okay, this is my all time favorite show and one of my favorite book series. As I said for City of Bones, I pretty much like any characters name. I think one reason why is because I’m obsessed with both fandoms… A LOT.

The spellbinding eleventh and penultimate installment in the #1 New York Times bestselling vampyre series

Drastically altered after her fall at the end of Hidden, Neferet is now more dangerous than ever—and her quest for vengeance will wreak havoc on humans, as well as Zoey and her friends. Chaos is loosed in Tulsa and the House of Night is blamed. Can Zoey stop Neferet in time to keep her anger from escalating to full-on war? Or will someone else have to step in to take the fall?

The House of Night series is an international phenomenon, reaching #1 on U.S., German, and UK bestseller lists, and remaining a fixture on The New York Times Children’s Series bestseller list for nearly 150 weeks and counting. With more than 12 million copies in print, rights sold in thirty–eight countries to date, and relatable, addictive characters, this series is unstoppable. Now, in the eleventh and penultimate installment of the series, the action is more intense and the stakes even higher as Zoey and her friends battle to protect their school and home from devastating evil—all while balancing romances, precarious friendships and the daily drama of the House of Night’s halls.

I have been a fan of this series for a few years now. There’s this book and one left in the series. It’s a fairly long series. There are some things that could have been done without to make this series shorter. I’m in a way ready for it to be done and see what happens to Zoey and all of her friends. I’m just ready for Neferet to die and get rid of her annoying, evil self. It’s been a couple months since I read Hidden so some details are harder to remember. But, can’t wait to see what happens!

Top Ten Tuesday: Best Sequels Ever

This Top Ten (eight) list is in order.

city of ashes catching fire frostbite crossed fifty shades darker

1. City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare: This could interchange with Catching Fire. I love them both VERY much! City of Ashes was definitely a lot better than City of Bones. There was more drama and more action as well as more character development. We were also introduced to some new characters as well.

2. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins: Of the whole trilogy, the was definitely my favorite! The Games were so interesting this time around for the Quarter Quell! I remember reading it and never wanting to put the book down. When I would get ready to put it down, something interesting would come along and I’d continue reading it.

3. Frostbite by Richelle Mead: It’s been a couple years since I’ve read this series, but Frostbite was really good from what I can gather. We were introduced to a new character, Adrian. There was also a lot more action involved!

4. Crossed by Ally Condie: Definitely a great sequel! I didn’t really enjoy Matched all that much. I think I gave it a 4/5 stars on Goodreads; I gave Crossed a 5/5. There was a lot going on with Cassia and Ky trying to find each other. I flew through the last 2/3’s of the book in a day.

5. Fifty Shades Darker by E.L. James: It’s been about a year since I’ve read the book but I do remember loving the story. I remember there was more drama and it was more intense than Fifty Shades of Grey.

betrayed blue moon living dead in dallas

6. Betrayed by P.C. Cast: It’s been about 4 years since I’ve read this book, but I do remember that each book got better than the previous. I don’t remember really anything that happened in Betrayed, but I do remember that it was good. Just can’t remember any details. :(

7. Blue Moon by Alyson Noel: Again, as I said above, I read this about 4 years ago and I really don’t remember much at all, especially for The Immortal series.

8. Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris: I’m in love with this show and the book series! From what I can remember about the book series is that it’s a little different than the show.

Sorry to those that read this… It was hard for me to come up with a Top Ten list seeing as I haven’t really read a lot of books lately. If I have it’s the first book to the series and haven’t yet picked up the sequel (ex: the Shatter Me series, I just finished the book about a week ago and haven’t picked up Unravel Me yet).

It’s also been a few years since I’ve read a lot of these series so any details about the books are buried and I can’t remember much.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I’d Love to See as a Movie or TV Show

toptentuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week’s theme is: ‘Top Ten Books We’d Love To See As A Movie Or TV Show’

Sorry for this being my 3rd post for today! I have been crazy busy and today was really the only time I could post. So, sorry for the “spam” of posts!

Alright, so my top ten list would be:

evermore blue bloods Shatter me new eye co#1A459 the selection marked

1. The Immortals by Alyson Noel: -TV show. I read this series I believe 2 or 3 years ago. I was in love with the plot and I was interested in Ever and Damen’s relationship.

2. Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz: -TV show. Again, another series I read a while back. I really liked this storyline and I remember being completely invested in it while reading. It would be interesting to see it as a TV show.

3. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi: -Movie. I have not read this yet, but I am reading it this month. I know what the storyline is about and it would be really interesting to see this as a movie… A girl with a touch that kills; sounds interesting!

4. The Selection by Kiera Cass: -Movie. I adored this book! I have not read the sequel, The Elite yet, but will soon! It has mix with The Hunger Games with having a select group of individuals going to a location fighting for one thing- The Hunger Games-survival; The Selection- Maxon (who is the Prince) and the crown.

5. House of Night by P.C. Cast: -TV show. I have been DYING to see this as a show for a few years now! They keep saying it’s going to be a TV show, but it never makes it very far. :( I really want to see how producers and everyone puts this series together! I’d love to see it in person!

5th wave cinder the darkest minds matched alice in zombieland

6. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey: -Movie. Another book I have yet to read, but will read soon. I also know what this book is about and it would be amazing to see it up on the big-screen!

7. Cinder by Marissa Meyer: -Movie. Another book on my TBR pile. A cyborg remaking of Cinderella?! Umm, YES!!!

8. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken: -Undecided… Yet another on my TBR pile, except this one is for this month! I’m not as familiar with the plot as The 5th Wave and Shatter Me, but I’ve heard and read reviews of this book and it sounds like it’d be a great TV show or a movie!!

9. Matched by Ally Condie: -TV show. This book is just so interesting! I didn’t enjoy Matched as much as I enjoyed Crossed, but the plot and the world is VERY interesting and it’d be interesting to see as a TV show!

10. Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter: -Undecided. Another book on my huge TBR pile, unsure of when I will get to this book though. But okay, I absolutely LOVE Alice in Wonderland! Mix that with zombies!? That sounds really awesome!
