I’m serious though… I miss Twilight a BUNCH!

2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins: It’s been so long since I’ve read this trilogy, but I was obsessed with it for months after reading! (at least 6!) The feelings are still very raw and I still remember crying and being happy and just experiencing all the feels through this AMAZING trilogy!

3. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead: Oh gosh, it’s been like 5 years since I read one of my all time favorite series… I miss Dimitri and Rose and everyone! I still need to catch up on Bloodlines, but hopefully soon! #TEAMDIMITRI!

Top Ten Tuesday: “Gateway” Books/Authors In My Reading Journey

top ten tuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

.

This week’s theme is ‘Top Ten Tuesday: “Gateway” Books/Authors In My Reading Journey’. —

Sorry guys, I pre-write my posts and this was actually next week’s post. Sorry about that! Next week you’ll get this week’s top 10. ;)

.

This is in order of how much they have affected me.

twilight new moon eclipse breaking dawn

1. The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer: Introduced me to the Young Adult genre and vampires. My obsession with this lasted until the last book. That doesn’t mean I don’t love Twilight anymore-because I do. It’s my all time favorite series and she’s my all time favorite author. No matter how good of any book, this series/author will always come first!

the hunger games catching fire mockingjay

2. The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins: This trilogy introduced me to the dystopian genre. I love thinking about what the world could be like in the future, so this helped fuel my interest in it! Now, dystopia is one of my favorite genres to read!

fifty shades of grey fifty shades darker fifty shades freed

3. Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James: This trilogy introduced me to the adult contemporary romance. Yes, I do realize there is a lot of sex and weird stuff that goes on. I still really enjoyed this trilogy.

the-host

4. The Host by Stephenie Meyer: I stopped reading after I finished the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy the summer before I started college (so 2 years ago). I picked up The Host last August (2013) because of the movie. Since The Host, I have been reading nonstop and I thank Stephenie Meyer again for bringing me back to reading. :)

shadow and bone daughter of smoke and bone

5. Shadow and Bone (The Grisha #1) by Leigh Bardugo & 6. Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone #1) by Laini Taylor: These 2 amazing books introduced me to the fantasy genre. Fantasy is a very BROAD term because pretty much any book could fall under fantasy. But, you know your in an actual fantasy book, when you can’t pronounce names! :) I VERY much enjoyed both of these books (both 5/5 stars) and I’m so glad I picked both of them up!

the last song

7. The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks: This introduced me to the contemporary side of Young Adult (as well as adult with Dear John). I was such a big fan of Miley Cyrus growing up, and when I heard she was going to be in The Last Song, I immediately went and got the book. I absolutely LOVE this book and even 5 years later (I think that’s how long it’s been, maybe longer) and I still remember pretty much everything that happened in this book! I absolutely love Nicholas Sparks’ writing!

the duff

8. The D.U.F.F. by Kody Keplinger: I read this book in one sitting. I read this in December and I still remember exactly what goes on in this book. I absolutely loved this book to pieces and is definitely one of my all time favorite books. I loved this story and the 2 main characters so very much!!!!

vampire academy

9. The Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead: I read this series when I believe Blood Promise was being released. So I read this series about 4 1/2 years ago. I don’t really remember much because I read books in between those and I was in high school, but I remember absolutely LOVING this series! It’s definitely one of my all time favorite series!!!

wait for you frigid white hot kiss obsidian

10. Anything by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Guys, if you’ve been watching my posts, you’ll know how obsessed I am with her books. I’ve read 6 of her books so far! (Wait for You, Frigid, Bitter Sweet Love, White Hot Kiss, Obsidian, and Onyx). I’ve absolutely LOVED all the books to pieces. I am now to the point where I will read anything by her and I’ve made it my goal by the end of 2014, I will have read all her books up until this year!

Top Ten Tuesday: Characters I’d NEVER Want To Trade Places With

top ten tuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

.

This week’s theme is ‘Top Ten Goals/Resolutions For 2014’.

.

This is in no particular order.

the unbecoming of mara dyer the hunger games Shatter me new eye co#1A459 the darkest minds marked

1. Mara Dyer from the Mara Dyer trilogy by Michelle Hodkin- Do I need to explain? Her best friend, boyfriend, and friend are dead and she can’t remember why. She thinks she’s involved.. Do I need any further explanation!?

2. Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins- Seriously… I don’t need to explain this one. Everyone and their family has read this trilogy and knows why I’m choosing Katniss.

3. Juliette from the Shatter Me trilogy by Tahereh Mafi- Once your touched by Juliette, your dead. No questions asked, your dead. So no, I don’t want to trade places. I’m sorry Juliette, I love your character, but your life kind of stinks.

4. Ruby from The Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken- I wouldn’t actually mind trading places because *cough* Liam *cough. But whereas the world, HECK NO. I’m sorry, but to live in that world, nope.

5. Zoey Redbird from the House of Night series by P.C. and Kristin Cast- Okay, it’s been 11 books and I feel sorry for the girl… Everything that could go wrong, goes wrong.

divergent angelfall the vampire diaries obsidian pretty little liars

6. Tris from the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth- Okay, I’ve only read Divergent so I can’t really say anything. But, I have a very short list of books I can choose from. Tris doesn’t have the world’s best life that’s for sure. I definitely WOULD NOT want to trade places with her!

7. Penryn from Penryn and the End of Days series by Susan Ee- Okay, a world that has been taken over by angels and is completely gory?! COUNT ME OUT!!

8. Elena Gilbert from The Vampire Diaries series (and show) by L.J. Smith- Okay, I’ve read at least the first 4 books in this series and literally anything that could go wrong, goes wrong. The ONLY reason I’d want to live Elena’s life is for Mr. Stefan Salvatore. Only reason.

9. Dee Black from the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout- I feel so bad for Dee especially after what happens in Onyx. I just want to crawl into a corner and cry with her. I’d definitely not want to be in her place.

10. Alison Dilaurentis from the Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard- Okay, anyone that has ever heard of this series knows what I’m talking about. Alison is dead. –not a spoiler– This is probably not the best choice, but as I’ve said previously, I have a very short list of books I can choose from.

Top Ten Tuesday: Unusual Character Names I’ve Encountered In Books

toptentuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

.

This week’s theme is ‘Top Ten Unusual Character Names We’ve Encountered In Books’.

.

.

I DO NOT hate any of these fandoms! I love every single one of these series listed below!

Unusual Names:

the hunger games breaking dawn matched the selection blue bloods

1. Katniss and Peeta from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins– Okay, I don’t hate them. This is one of my favorite series. They are just such unusual names! Besides THG, I’ve never heard these names before.

2. Renesmee from Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer– Another one of my favorite series, okay, basically all time favorite. But, Renesmee is such a “random” name. Yes, I do know it’s both Edward’s and Bella’s mothers’ names. It’s just… unusual!

3. Cassia from Matched by Ally Condie– Cassie is one thing, but Cassia??

4. America from The Selection by Kiera Cass– I LOVE this name! It’s unusual because I don’t know anyone that has this name. The fact that this is dystopian and it (I’m assuming) takes place in the United States.

5. Schuyler from Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz– Completely random name. I don’t hate it, it’s just unusual!

Names I Love:

marked vampire academy city of bones Shatter me new eye co#1A459 the vampire diaries

1. Zoey from Marked by P.C. and Kristin Cast– I just LOVE this name! I’m not sure why I love it so much, but I do!

2. Rose and Lissa from Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead– These names, especially Rose are really pretty! Lissa is a very common name though..

3. Clary, Isabelle, and Jace from City of Bones by Cassandra Clare– Okay, I could basically say every character in this series is just awesome honestly! I especially love the name Clary. It just sounds pretty… Am I the only one?

4. Juliette from Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi– Romeo and Juliet? Really!? I don’t need an explanation. :)

5. Elena, Stefan, Damon, and Caroline from The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith– Okay, this is my all time favorite show and one of my favorite book series. As I said for City of Bones, I pretty much like any characters name. I think one reason why is because I’m obsessed with both fandoms… A LOT.

Top Ten Tuesday: Best/Worst Series Enders

toptentuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

.

This week’s theme is ‘Top Ten Best/Worst Series Enders’.

Mine is a list of 2 of the worst series enders and 3 best series enders.

.

So let’s start off with the worst enders shall we?

(not in particular order)

Seeing as I’m in the middle of so many series, there aren’t many that I find terrible. If they are it’s because of the feelings surrounding it.

mockingjay immortal hearts

1. Mockingjay (The Hunger Games #3) by Suzanne Collins: I DO NOT hate this book AT ALL! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE The Hunger Games trilogy! But I’m sure all of you guys have read this series by now and understand the feelings behind this book. There were some unexpected things that happened that I still haven’t come to terms with.. 2 or 3 years later I still have not gotten over it and I probably NEVER will… It’s that bad..

2. Immortal Hearts (Vampire Kisses #9) by Ellen Schreiber: I felt that the ending was rushed… If you have read the series or know what it’s about, this series is very predictable and isn’t the world’s best vampire series. Well, back when I was a sophomore in high school I began my Twilight obsession and my obsession with vampires hit full force. I wanted to read every single book about vampires and this series was one of them. Overall I have given the series a 3/5 stars. They are SUPER SHORT reads and I would read them in a day.

Best Enders: (again no particular order)

breaking dawn last sacrifice fifty shades freed

1. Breaking Dawn (Twilight Saga #4) by Stephenie Meyer: Really?! Do I need to explain myself!? This series is my life! I ADORE this series it is such a big part of who I am and what I like… Everyone that knows me personally knows how obsessed I was/am obsessed with this series.

2. Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy #6) by Richelle Mead: One of my absolute FAVORITE series EVER! I don’t remember very much from it because it’s been about 3 years since I’ve read it, but I do remember being COMPLETELY and UTTERLY obsessed with this series. I need to re-read this series very soon!

3. Fifty Shades Freed (Fifty Shades of Grey #3) by E.L. James: I’m one of the few people to actually say they loved this series.. I’m not embarrassed to say that I loved this series, because I really did. Aside from all the sex and everything, Christian and Anastasia’s relationship was AMAZING! I LOVE this series and can’t wait for the movie! When I finished the series I was wanting more of their relationship, I wanted to see more of it!

.

Is it bad that these are the only series that I have actually finished…. Yeah, that’s kind of bad. I’m in the middle of SO MANY series it’s crazy! Some I started when I was going through my Twilight/vampire obsession– House of Night (only waiting for last 2 books), Immortal series, Blue Bloods and the Sookie Stackhouse series. I need to stop and finish my series!

Top Ten Tuesday: Best Sequels Ever

toptentuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week’s theme is ‘Top Ten Best Sequels Ever’.

This Top Ten (eight) list is in order.

.

.

.

city of ashes catching fire frostbite crossed fifty shades darker

1. City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare: This could interchange with Catching Fire. I love them both VERY much! City of Ashes was definitely a lot better than City of Bones. There was more drama and more action as well as more character development. We were also introduced to some new characters as well.

2. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins: Of the whole trilogy, the was definitely my favorite! The Games were so interesting this time around for the Quarter Quell! I remember reading it and never wanting to put the book down. When I would get ready to put it down, something interesting would come along and I’d continue reading it.

3. Frostbite by Richelle Mead: It’s been a couple years since I’ve read this series, but Frostbite was really good from what I can gather. We were introduced to a new character, Adrian. There was also a lot more action involved!

4. Crossed by Ally Condie: Definitely a great sequel! I didn’t really enjoy Matched all that much. I think I gave it a 4/5 stars on Goodreads; I gave Crossed a 5/5. There was a lot going on with Cassia and Ky trying to find each other. I flew through the last 2/3’s of the book in a day.

5. Fifty Shades Darker by E.L. James: It’s been about a year since I’ve read the book but I do remember loving the story. I remember there was more drama and it was more intense than Fifty Shades of Grey.

betrayed blue moon living dead in dallas

6. Betrayed by P.C. Cast: It’s been about 4 years since I’ve read this book, but I do remember that each book got better than the previous. I don’t remember really anything that happened in Betrayed, but I do remember that it was good. Just can’t remember any details. :(

7. Blue Moon by Alyson Noel: Again, as I said above, I read this about 4 years ago and I really don’t remember much at all, especially for The Immortal series.

8. Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris: I’m in love with this show and the book series! From what I can remember about the book series is that it’s a little different than the show.

Sorry to those that read this… It was hard for me to come up with a Top Ten list seeing as I haven’t really read a lot of books lately. If I have it’s the first book to the series and haven’t yet picked up the sequel (ex: the Shatter Me series, I just finished the book about a week ago and haven’t picked up Unravel Me yet).

It’s also been a few years since I’ve read a lot of these series so any details about the books are buried and I can’t remember much.
