I’m so sad to see this series ending; I’ve absolutely adored this series to pieces. I was so pumped hearing some of my closest book friends raving about the Checkmate Duet (originally just Travis and Viola) and had to hear what was going on. Each of the 6 books, I’ve flown through them; each being impossible to put down. They always kept my attention and always having me ask for more.
If you’ve read This is Dangerous, then you know the dreaded cliffhanger that came during this book. And I do think it’s the “worst” of the cliffhangers for these books. While waiting I was dying to know what was going to happen.
I do feel that some parts were a little rushed which resulted in a 4 star rating. But seriously. I can’t love this series more. Well, I guess I could, but seriously. I adore this series and I’m seriously sad that it’s time to say goodbye to this gang! It’s hard to say which of the duets is my favorite because I love them all for very different reasons.
If you have not introduced yourself to this series; please do so immediately. These books are so stinking good; they are impossible to put down. PLUS you won’t have to wait for the sequels like I did (well, mostly for the last 2 duets; I didn’t have to wait for Travis/Viola).
Seriously. Go read them. Now.

Where do I even start honestly!? These books are everything. I have been SO excited for Logan and Kayla’s story after seeing them in the previous books. Kennedy Fox is one of those authors that I get so giddy about and fangirl hardcore. I adore them that much. I have flown through all 5 of these books and I know the 6th and final will be the same.

But first, before I get into the meat of this review, let’s mention that cliffhanger REAL quick. Be prepared because I’ve been dying internally for several days now. BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO READ THIS BEFORE THE SEQUEL; YOU JUST HAVE TO!

You can’t help but fall in love with all these characters. Getting to really meet and understand Logan’s story and learn more about Kayla… I’m dying. I seriously am. There are still so many questions I have! Plus, can we mention how SWOONWORTHY Logan is?! I MEAN COME ON!

Kennedy Fox knows how to keep you on your toes, never wanting to put the book down. This is why I always fly through these books because it is IMPOSSIBLE to put down! Anxiously awaiting the sequel and can’t wait to see Logan and Kayla again!

My Review:

This is my first time reading a romance book by KA Tucker. The only other book I’ve read by her was He Will Be My Ruin (which I loved!). So I knew going in that I’d probably enjoy this book as well, and I did. I couldn’t put the book down! I had to keep going!!

What immediately caught my attention about this book was a single mom. Now, I’m a sucker for these kinds of books so I was excited to see what this on was about! It’s not a heavy book, it’s pretty light and fun to read.

Now, this can definitely be classified as slow burn for sure. I just wanted to push Catherine and Brett together and just say “okay, now KISS!”.

Now I’m even more pushing myself to read her other books because I know for sure I’ll love those too. I absolutely love KA Tucker’s writing and I’ve heard so many rave that her writing is amazing as well in her others.

I adored this book! I’m gonna be thinking about this book for weeks to come because this is one that won’t leave my mind for a while.

FAVORITE BOOK OF THE YEAR. This book is everything. I sobbed for a good 30 minutes for the last 10-15% of the book. This book was nothing like I expected it to be and it was everything I expected in a TJR book. This book was so much more than the seven husbands in her life and the romance, it was about her life and the struggles she went through. And let me tell you, it wasn’t an easy life for her.

You never know what route TJR will take with her stories. She always takes you by surprise and usually always leaves you hanging and wondering what is going to happen next.

I would classify this more as woman’s lit and not romance. I’m not one to read that genre, but since last night I have been SWEARING up and down by this book trying to get other friends to read it. (and failing miserably). I just want to tell them what happens so they will understand how much I loved this book. But I don’t want to spoil anything for them because it’ll just ruin the entire story. But how exactly do you push people to read this amazing book!? That is the question because I know a lot of people will adore this book like I did. Some may not like it and there’s nothing wrong with that! It’s still an amazing story from a VERY talented writer!

This is now my 3rd time reading one of her books and I’m still swearing by her books. Though, now this one takes the cake of the other 2 and is now one of my favorite books probably of all time. The other 2 books I’m referencing to is Maybe in Another Life and One True Loves. This book is so beautiful, so real, and very emotional. I cannot stress how much I need people to read this because this is just one of those everyone needs to read and you will see after reading. Promise.

Where do I even start!? I absolutely adore this book and Rachel as an author. I’ve read 2 of her others; Be My December and Be My Temptation (which Ben, our MC will appear in!!!!). I was so excited to see this book and to get my hands on it. Ben was literally everything. SOO swoon-worthy. I can just gush all day about him. He’s literally the BEST…

Such a page turner filled with intense scenes. I’m gonna keep this short and sweet; because you just need to read it. ;) You only need that cover to make the decision to read; then Ben will totally be worth it… Just you wait. ;)

Where do I even begin!? I binged the first 3 books last month and couldn’t stop myself. After being recommended and pushed to read these from several of my closest friends, I caved and FINALLY read them. About time right? Well, I’m obsessed and mad at myself for having waited until just last month to finally dive into these amazing books. I love everything about these 2 duos. I just can’t when it comes to these books. I literally “can’t even”. Because these are written in duos, this is not a standalone – book 1 HAS TO be read first before this one.

If you’re new to this series, be ready to meet Mia. Lord, help us all with that character… She has had a part in the storyline in the beginning and really makes her big appearance in this duology. Don’t worry, y’all don’t have to wait with the cliffhanger. Unless you’ve been with this series for at least a couple weeks, you’ve endured that cliffhanger. OH MAN!

These books are impossible to put down. Once you start, you do nothing, and I mean nothing until you hit that final page. Then wonder where the time went and where a real life Drew (or Travis) is…. Just me? I hope not. ;)

If you’re new to my reviews, I’m one who loves to gush. Especially when it’s books I love like these. I struggle to form coherent sentences and you can literally call me a fangirl. I fangirl hard when it comes to books especially when it’s ones I’m passionate about.

Seriously. Guys, if you have not read these books PLEASE go get This is War/This is Love and then we can talk… These books are MUST and the duo that is Kennedy Fox is amazing!!!!

 She was on her way to interview me when we got stuck.

The beautiful, raven-haired reporter assumed I was a delivery guy because of the way I was dressed.

 She had no clue I was really Dex Truitt, the wealthy, successful businessman she’d dubbed “Mister Moneybags”—her afternoon appointment.

 Bianca told me how much she hated Dex’s type—snobby, over educated, silver- spooned men who didn’t appreciate the simple things in life.

MY REVIEW: 

AHH!!! A ONE-SITTING BOOK! I devoured this book! I couldn’t put it down for the life of me. I loved the first chapter, it hooked me immediately. It had me cracking up so bad that I was messaging friends talking about it and laughing! I loved Dex and Bianca. So many plot twists in the last few chapters! Especially when it got to the last 20% or so, I literally could not put the book down. I couldn’t break my attention away because I had to know what was going to happen.
Such a fun, yet crazy book. Highly recommend this book!!

My Review:

This woman and her writing and stories… They kill me every time. I’ve read and ADORED every single book that’s been published. She really knows how to mess with your emotions. If you’ve read hers before, you know it’s no secret. if you’ve never read, keep this in mind. Tears will be shed, if not, then tears WILL be in your eyes. I’ve cried every book. I’m an emotional person (I’m sure you all know this by now) so it doesn’t take much for the water to start flowing. But seriously. I get sucked into her books immediately. Grace is definitely my favorite female character she’s written so far. She’s the character I’ve related to most in her stories. Not completely, but enough. These Hennington boys… Seriously, I wish emojis worked here because they get my feelings out better than words. It’s easier and faster. :) But seriously, I can’t with these books and I adored Trent and Grace. I love this gang so much I’m not ready for it to be over..

The night I met Drew Jagger, he’d just broken into my new Park Avenue office.

Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn’t really available for rent.

REVIEW:

I absolutely loved this book and was so excited after reading the synopsis (which is very rare for me; once in a blue moon kind of thing), I wanted to get my hands on it.

I totally thought this was my first Vi Keeland book, and being the dummy I am, totally thought it was until I checked. Nope, I completely forgot I read The Baller mid-year last year (I think September or October…). But anyway. Adored this book. Once a certain event occured, I fell hard core. There’s a certain type of genre I like to read (& I’ll completely avoid spoilers so you’ll have to play a guessing game because I am very broad in my likes for books)! LOL I knew I loved Drew when he was first introduced, but as the story progressed, I fell in love with his character more.

Emerie and Drew’s story was fun. I loved every minute of it. I flew through this book, I couldn’t put it down!!

This has the potential of becoming a favorite of the year, but a definite 5 star rating and will recommend every chance I get!

what i thought

This was my second book I’ve read by Renee Carlino and so far this is my favorite. This quickly became an all time favorite book for me and will most likely make it onto my top reads of this year. This is so different from typical NA romance books. Renee Carlino is a fantastic writer if you are not familiar with her books…

I love the whole story behind this. It’s a book within a book. How the story unfolds and how our main character, Emiline finds herself as well as learning about her past in one of the most COOLEST ways!

Who doesn’t love second chance romances?! I EAT THOSE UP! Second chances make some of the sweetest stories ever because of the relationship in the beginning – I just find them the best. I love that the characters have known each other pretty much their entire lives, became best friends, hung out with each other, grew up together, E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G.

I always find writing reviews for books that I absolutely adore are the hardest to write. There’s nothing to pick at because it was all done PERFECTLY. All I want to do is just gush about this book. It’s very difficult to find the right words to fully describe my love for this book!

Renee has such a unique writing style – it’s just so pretty!
Have I convinced you to buy a copy yet? Seriously… This book is just gush-worthy. Everything about this is just gorgeous!!!!!
