Meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews where I post all the bookish things I’ve received/purchased either physical or e-book.
I have A LOT to show you guys this week! But HEY! Been a while right? ;) Well, hopefully this makes up for my absence. :) I was doing really good up until my birthday- where I got $150 to spend ($50 to Half Price Books and $100 to Amazon), so all but 1 book are in this haul! (still waiting on 1 more… ugh). Then, there’s my RT Book Lovers Convention haul from last Saturday….. ;) I got a lot! So why don’t I start showing you the goodies?
What my lovely friends Cassie (@allthebookishfeels on IG) & Monica (@nightreads on IG) sent me!
I swear, these 2 know me so well. :) I’m spoiled! Love my friends!!! Can’t wait to meet both these girls someday!
What I did with the $150 I got for my birthday (excluding 1 book which I’m STILL waiting on!)
The 4th picture is what I bought with my $50 Half Price Books gift card. :) The rest are what I ordered from Amazon, and again, excluding one book which I still haven’t received! The one book I have the most issues with is the copy of The 100. The most obvious detail is there’s NO DUST JACKET! I was too excited with this money that I failed to pay attention to the description. Whoops! Hopefully I can still return it, I’m not okay with no dust jacket. ;)
The damage done at RT last Saturday in Dallas:
I came home with 45 books total, but 12 are books I brought from home to get signed. I don’t think I included the 3 that weren’t signed…
These are the 12 books I brought from home to be signed. Below are the signatures plus some extra books I picked up at the convention that were signed.
These are the remaining 33 books I picked up! I honestly got a huge majority of these from my lovely friend, Ashlynn (@bookishqueen on IG) who I spent the majority of the day with! (& including my younger sister, Kamryn @wanderlustreader on IG)
My Epic Reads tote bag I got during the Teen Day Party later in the night! The authors that attended this event that I could hunt down, I got their signatures. :) See who you can make out on the bag!!
And of course, what’s a book convention without the mounds of swag right? :) I didn’t realize how much I came home with until the next day when I went through everything! I didn’t think I picked up that much and this picture DOES NOT do the size of this pile justice! I honestly gave up trying to make it look all pretty because I had sooo much swag!
Of course I have to show you one of the highlights of the day… Getting to do a photo-booth session with Kiera Cass! This is now the second time meeting her and I honestly adore her to pieces! She’s the sweetest, funniest, most outgoing author there. She was the most involved with all the readers (at least from what I saw!). She is just the sweetest person!
Lastly, I can’t forget to show you all the totes I came home with. :)
Ohh! I can’t forget my pictures with some authors! :D
Morgan Matson (author of Since You’ve Been Gone, Second Chance Summer and others)
Richelle Mead!!! (I’m sure you know, but author of the AMAZING series, Vampire Academy!)
Alyson Noel (Author of the Immortal series and others)
The author I was the MOST stoked about finally getting meet, JENNIFER L. ARMENTROUT! I don’t need to list her books, if you follow me and keep up with my posts, you probably know how HUGE of a fan I am of her!) :D
Stephanie Perkins (author of Anna and the French Kiss, Lola and the Boy Next Door and Isla and the Happily Ever After)
Colleen Hoover (author of Ugly Love, the Slammed trilogy and others!)
RT Book Lovers Convention was the best day so far this year! I had an absolute blast! I didn’t expect how it ended up turning out. This was my first convention and only having attended a handful of signings in the past. So, I was kind of unprepared for the event. I missed A LOT of awesome authors at the event and didn’t think to bring at least more books or something for authors to sign instead of books. Thanks to the Epic Reads tote I got later in the day, I was able to get some signatures from authors I didn’t bring books for. Had I thought of that at the beginning of the day during the massive signing, I would have brought something at least! But nonetheless, it was an absolute amazing experience that I think every reader should do at least once in their life! It’s fun to hang out with authors and get to spend the day with them. At signings you don’t normally get this kind of one-on-one time with authors like you do at conventions! I’m so grateful to all the publishing companies, the people who put together RT, the authors attended and just everyone that made this day possible! It was absolutely worth the $30 I spent to attend this event. Yes, your reading that correctly. Only $30 to get and experience all this! I’m sure I was an absolute fangirl at some points, especially during the Teen Day Party! I was running around like a madman finding authors for signatures. But, it was so worth it. :) We all fangirl and know what it’s like to act that way! ;) I hope someday in the future RT comes back closer like they did this year! Also, hopefully I can attend some other conventions that are hosted here in Texas in the future! I will definitely attend more of these in the future and not just RT’s convention!
Well, that’s it! I’ll see you guys later! :)
