top ten tuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Ugh, this topic is me right now. I’m the WORST at finishing series… Let’s get this over with..

Infernal_Devices_Book_1_Clockwork_Angel_9781406321326_CVR clockwork prince clockwork princess

  • The Infernal Devices Trilogy by Cassandra Clare: I’ve only read the first and soon after finishing I was spoiled on the epilogue for Clockwork Princess. This was about a year ago. I’m not sure if being spoiled on the ending is what is keeping me from continuing, no idea.

half blood deity sentinel

  • Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout: I know, your shocked right?? Coming from someone who is OBSESSED with this lady, you’d think I would be done with this series by now. Nope.. Still have only read the 1st one… I’m terrible…

image image image

  • Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling: Okay, cut me some slack. I just started this summer and I’m going to start book 5 at some point. I WILL have this series finished by the end of the year. :)

the darkest minds never fade in the afterlight

  • The Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken: I literally only need to read the last book in this series. I still have yet to do so and I pre-ordered it. I’m bad…

bloodlines the indigo spell the ruby circle

  • Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead: Someone’s favorite series of all time (well at least 1 of them anyway), Vampire Academy you’d think I’d be done with this series. Nope… Still have only read the first. Have I told you guys how bad I am with keeping up with series!? It’s not that I don’t want to read the series, I do.

the lightning thief the titans curse the last olympian

  • Percy Jackson & the Olympians series by Rick Riordan: Read the first book so far. Again, not that I don’t want to read the series, I do. Just other books call to me..

daughter of smoke and bone days of blood and starlight dreams of gods and monsters

  • Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor: Okay, thankfully I only need to read the last one. But oh my gosh, my whole reason why I haven’t read it is the SIZE OF THE DANG BOOK! It’s massive!!! Plus, I’m not much of a fantasy person as you can tell. Not that I don’t like the series, I’m actually in love with it.

uglies pretties specials

  • The Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld: I’ve only read the first. This is a dystopian series that I read like. I like the idea of this world and I have been DYING to continue since I read the first book… Just haven’t done so yet.

marked burned redeemed

  • House of Night series by P.C. and Kristin Cast: I started this series a long time ago. Maybe like 4 or 5 years ago. I’m almost finished with the series, I have the final 2 books left. I’m at this point, that I’m curious to see how it all ends but I’m just like, okay 12 books… Really not necessary.

blue bloods misguided angel gates of paradise

  • Blue Bloods series by Melissa De La Cruz: This is another series I read a while back. Honestly I don’t remember anything from this series. So if I ever do finish it, I will have to start over. I do though remember really liking it. I mean, comeon it’s vampires. Vampires are the reason I love reading. Thank you Twilight. ;)

My Rating: 5 stars2 all time favorite

In this dazzling and long-awaited conclusion to the acclaimed Mortal Instruments series, Clary and her friends fight the greatest evil they have ever faced: Clary’s own brother.

Sebastian Morgenstern is on the move, systematically turning Shadowhunter against Shadowhunter. Bearing the Infernal Cup, he transforms Shadowhunters into creatures out of nightmare, tearing apart families and lovers as the ranks of his Endarkened army swell.

The embattled Shadowhunters withdraw to Idris – but not even the famed demon towers of Alicante can keep Sebastian at bay. And with the Nephilim trapped in Idris, who will guard the world against demons?

When one of the greatest betrayals the Nephilim have ever known is revealed, Clary, Jace, Isabelle, Simon, and Alec must flee – even if their journey takes them deep into the demon realms, where no Shadowhunter has set foot before, and from which no human being has ever returned…

Love will be sacrificed and lives lost in the terrible battle for the fate of the word in the thrilling final installment of the classic urban fantasy series The Mortal Instruments!

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR OTHER BOOKS IN THE SERIES. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED! :)

my thoughts 2

This is probably one of the hardest reviews I’ve written.

Just know this was a fantastic conclusion to one my favorite series! I have been soo nervous for the past few months about this book! I expected so many deaths and absolute sadness, but I was wrong. Everything about this was amazing! It took me over a week and a half or so to read it. 725 pages is a lot to read! This is the biggest book-besides Breaking Dawn I’ve read! I felt so good when I finished because I just wanted to finish it before the spoilers started rolling out. Thankfully I never found a spoiler. I know some people got spoiled the day it was released.

I honestly don’t know what exactly to put in this review without spoiling anything from the series. But just know, it was fantastic! I loved all the action, romance, and suspense! I had so much to expect from this book and I was soo nervous going into just from seeing tweets from Cassandra Clare. I didn’t know what to expect or who was going to die, what. I was scared to turn the pages because I didn’t know what was going to happen next, but I was so excited to see this end.

The epilogue was perfect! Long, but sooo good! I got really teary eyed at the end. Happy tears, not sad tears. It was just so perfect and I am so happy that it ended so well!! I’m really going to miss all these characters who I really connected with and fell in love with!

ΕRCHOMAI, SEBASTIAN HAD SAID.

I’m not ready for it though…. I don’t know if I’ll ever be ready for this monster.

With everything Cassandra Clare has been posting that’s going to happen, I’m most definitely NOT ready for this.

BUT I’M SO EXCITED!!!!! :D

twilight the vampire diaries vampire academy blue bloods marked

1. The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer: Honestly the only reason I have this on the list is because of the vampires. Pretty much anyone that has been interested in this series has probably already read it. But, definitely worth the read for vampire lovers like myself. :)

2. The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith: Well, if you love the show you should definitely give the series a shot! Granted, the show is COMPLETELY different from the books and the books have mixed reviews.

3. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead: Ignore the title… If you have yet to read this series, definitely read if you love vampires! I promise you’ll love it!

4. Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz: It’s been years since I’ve read this series so any details are extremely fuzzy, but I do remember really enjoying the series!

5. House of Night series by P.C. & Kristin Cast: Not my favorite series, but definitely enjoyable. It does drag on, but don’t let that get to you. Definitely do not try and marathon this series for all 12-13 books. I promise you will most likely either get A) Super bored after a while or B) Just want to put the series down forever.

10. Darkest Powers trilogy by Kelley Armstrong: I don’t know, it just seemed like something TVD fans would be interested in. TVD definitely has its creepy moments and this trilogy definitely doesn’t disappoint!

Top Ten Tuesday: All Time Favorite Books in the Paranormal Genre

top ten tuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

.

This week’s theme is ‘Top Ten All Time Favorite Books in X Genre’.

.

This is in no particular order.

Some of these books can fall into other categories other than “paranormal” but I went ahead and made it the major genre. :)

miss pereguine's home for peculiar children city of bones vampire academy breaking dawn the summoning

1. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs: I think I would more categorize this as fantasy more as paranormal (well at least that’s how I have it on my shelves). But, this book was fantastic! The pictures make the story just that much more creepier. The story is so engaging and it was so so hard to put the book down!

2. The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare: I’m still in the middle of reading The Infernal Devices, so I can’t count it. But, however I am caught up on TMI and I absolutely love this series so much. I’m not looking forward to the end. This series includes any and every paranormal/supernatural creature you can possibly think of! That’s why I love it!!! The characters are so amazing and can vividly picture in your mind!

3. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead: It’s been like 5 years since I’ve read this series, but I remember loving it so so so much. I absolutely love vampires to death (no pun intended). I went through a Twilight/vampire phase in high school when I saw Twilight. That phase lasted around a 1-1/2 year(s). Despite the cheesy covers and bad titles, this series is so definitely worth the read!

4. The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer: Okay, stop with the hate. I’m pretty sure almost everyone loved this series at one point. I know for dang sure I did! This series means the world to me and it holds a big place in my heart. I literally have a Twilight shrine on my bookshelf. The only things on that shelf are Twilight related. While all my other shelves are getting overstuffed, my Twilight shelf is all neat and has plenty of space. :) I don’t understand why now this series is getting so much hate? I love this series so very much and I will continue to love it until I die.

5. Darkest Powers trilogy by Kelley Armstrong: I’ve had The Summoning and the sequel on my shelves for about 4 years now. In January I FINALLY picked the book up! Why did I wait soo long to read it? I’m not sure.. Because it was FANTASTIC! Is it about witches? No.. Don’t fool yourself like I did for 4 years. This series may be very predictable, but the characters and the story are fantastic! The creepiness/scariness is what sold me on it!

the unbecoming of mara dyer these broken stars obsidian sweet evil the-host

6. Mara Dyer trilogy by Michelle Hodkin: I don’t even need to explain my recent love for this trilogy. I can’t even explain how FANTASTIC Michelle Hodkin’s writing style is. Your constantly wondering what’s real and what isn’t! Maybe it’s all a dream?! Maybe it’s real! But I know for a fact, Noah Shaw is real. ;)

7. These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Megan Spooner: This book was absolutely AMAZING! I read it in December and absolutely fell for the two main characters! It’s not a normal love story that is centered around the love. It’s centered around the two main characters trying to survive on a planet by themselves with nothing but a small backpack and each other.

8. The Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Okay… Seriously. Jennifer L. Armentrout is a queen! I’m not joking. I absolutely LOVE her writing style and the male characters she writes about! She makes the world’s best swoon-worthy, extremely sexy, and HOT men EVER! *cough* Daemon Black *cough* ;)

9. the Sweet Evil trilogy by Wendy Higgins: I adore this series so very much. It’s freaky how similar I am to the main character, Anna. I find myself in many ways just like her. It’s a little weird.. This series is so fantastic and I LOVE the angels/demons aspect of the story! Ohh, not to mention Mr. Kaidan. ;)

10. The Host by Stephenie Meyer: I read this book last summer and I absolutely loved it. It is a pretty big book, but totally worth it! Stephenie Meyer is one of my all time favorite authors, wait, she is my all time favorite author. Her stories have such a special place in my heart (as I’ve mentioned about Twilight above). After my Twilight phase, I stopped reading up until this last June. The book I picked up was this and that’s what got me back into reading again. Coincidence that it’s Stephenie Meyer that brought back my love for reading? Maybe.
